Building costs increase slightly in June

​Building costs rose by 0.1 per cent in June 2017 compared with the previous year's June, according to Statistics Finland.

The prices of materials went up by one per cent and those of services by 0.3 per cent from June 2016.

Simultaneously, prices of labour inputs in construction fell by 1.1 per cent. The fall in the prices of labour inputs is explained by lower social security costs compared with 2016.

From May to June, the total index of building costs remained on the same level as in the previous month. The prices of materials and services rose by 0.2 per cent compared to the previous month while the prices of labour inputs fell by 0.2 per cent.
