Critical banking payments secured despite strike

Key banking services such as online banking and card payments functioned as normal despite the bank workers' strike said Finance Finland (FFI).

FFI said that banks had managed to secure critical payments for individuals and corporate customers, the local media reported.

Branches of many banks including Nordea, Osuuspankki, Aktia and Danske bank were closed during the two-day strike.

The disputing parties failed to reach an agreement during the negotiations earlier in the week. Till Friday there was no information on when the new round of negotiation will take place.
