Import of new private car rises 17.5% in Apr

A total of 18,329 new motor vehicles were registered in April 2018, of which 12,840 were automobiles.
The number of first registrations marked a 12.5 per cent rise year on year, according to Statistics Finland.
In April, the number of new private cars registered was 11,044, which means a 17.5 per cent increase year on year.
The share of new diesel-driven passenger cars was 24.5 per cent.
In the January to April period of 2018 a total of 68,399 vehicles were first registered. Compared to the year before, that meant an increase of 2.8 per cent.
The number of passenger cars first registered in the January to April period was 45,459, which is 6.9 per cent up from that in the corresponding period of the previous year. The most common passenger car makes first registered in the January to April period were Toyota, Volkswagen and Skoda.
