A group of migrants and refugees scuffled with Greek police forces on Tuesday inside Moria refugee hotspot on Lesvos Island during a protest against living conditions, Greek national news agency AMNA reported.

According to initial information most people involved in the clashes are African nationals, as it had happened on July 10 when a riot broke out in the same refugee center.

During Tuesday's incident a fire also broke out in a neighboring olive grove and fire fighters were battling the flames, according to AMNA.

The number of protesters has yet not been clarified.

Approximately 3,000 people are housed in the hotspot. Many are stranded there since March 2016 when the EU- Turkey agreement aimed to stem the refugee flows into Europe came in force.
