4 female US tourists attacked with acid in France

Four female American tourists were attacked with hydrochloric acid by an unknown woman on Sunday morning at Marseille's main train station (southern France), and two of them were touched in the face, local newspaper La Provence reported.

The four tourists, who are in their 20s, in transit from Marseille to Paris, were attacked at about 11:00 a.m. at the train station Saint-Charles. The two victims touched in the face were transported to the hospital and the two others were simply shocked.

According to police source quoted by La Provence, it's said to be the gesture of a woman, mentally unbalanced, who stayed in place after attacking and exhibited her own photos presenting herself with burns. The 41-year-old perpetrator was arrested and detained by the police.
