Czech school boy accused of spreading dangerous drug

Czech police had accused an elementary school boy of spreading the dangerous synthetic cannabinoid in the country's eastern Moravia-Silesia region, regional police spokeswoman Gabriela Pokorna said Friday at a press conference.

The boy thus became the 12th suspect allegedly involving in a series of synthetic drug poisoning case.

The lethal drug appeared in north Moravia, and the substance has intoxicated 23 persons, two of whom have died, Pokorna said.

She said the police leveled charges against the 11 people, and the underage elementary school boy's criminal prosecution is inadmissible.

According to Pokrna, the school boy had provided the harmful substance to a 15-year-old boy, who had to be hospitalized due to the intoxication.

The police previously accused seven men aged 17 to 41 years in the case. A 19-year-old man was newly accused of illegal production and other handling of narcotics and psychotropic substances and poisons. He provided the dangerous substance to a friend of him, who ended up in hospital.

A 36-year-old homeless man was remanded in custody. He is the only one to face a higher prison sentence of up to 18 years. He smoke the lethal drug last week with another homeless who died of the drug use.
