Every year, November sees a spell of increased tyre thefts, as motorists in this month change to winter tyres.

So, the police have cautioned tyre shops as well as vehicle owners to secure their tyres, reported the local media. Tyres should not be left unguarded in the yard as they can be easily stolen, said the police.

A dozen of tyres were recently stolen from a locked container docked in a car dealer’s yard. Car dealers and tyres shops are advised to install decent outdoor lighting. An alarm system can also be useful to scare away any aspirant thieves.
