Almost half of the Finns are in favour of immigration, found a survey conducted by a Finnish language daily Helsingin Sanomat.

A total of 47 per cent are in favour of immigration, a figure which is 11 per cent more compared to a previous survey conducted in 2010. At that time, 37 per cent of the respondents were in favour of immigration.

According to the Helsingin Sanomat survey, the change is higher considering the number of those opposed to immigration. In 2010, 59 per cent were opposed to immigration, while in the latest survey the percentage is 41.

The survey was conducted by Kantar TNS in October on approximately 1,000 respondents. The margin of error is +/- 3 per cent.
