26 killed in road mishaps in October

At least 26 people were killed and 434 other injured in 377 road accidents in the country in October, according to the Statistics Finland.
The number of deaths was four more and that of the injured 29 less than that in October 2017.
Of the persons who were killed, 20 travelled by private car and one by van. Pedestrians killed in road accidents numbered two and cyclists three. Among those who died, 16 were men and 10 were women.
A total of 3,616 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in January to October period where 185 persons were killed and 4,478 persons injured.
The number of persons killed was three more and that of persons injured 141 lower than in the corresponding period of 2017.
Of the persons who were killed, 117 travelled by passenger cars, four by vans, three by mopeds, 23 by motorcycles, one by a lorry and four by buses. Pedestrians killed numbered 15 and cyclists 13. In addition, five other road users were killed.
