Heavy snowfall is forecast in the Southern Finland on Sunday, which feared to cause limitations to air traffic and to slow down apron operations at Helsinki Airport, said Finavia, the company operates country´s airports.

National Flag carrier Finnair on Saturday announced to cancel 14 flights scheduled for Sunday.

The flights are Helsinki-Turku-Helsinki AY225/AY226, Helsinki-Gothenburg-Helsinki AY865/AY866, Helsinki-Bromma-Helsinki AY835/AY836, Helsinki-London-Helsinki AY1335/AY1336, Helsinki-Kuusamo-Helsinki AY487/AY488, Helsinki-Oulu-Helsinki AY441/AY442, Helsinki-Paris-Helsinki AY1581/AY1582.

Passengers are asked to prepare for at least some delays and to follow notifications of their own airlines.

Finavia, however, assured to take maximum effort to keep the runways open and operations running as smoothly as possible despite the snowy weather conditions.

Challenging snow and wind conditions are expected to cause limitations to traffic and slow down other operations, like de-icing the aircraft.
