Severe cold likely to disrupt rail communications Monday

National railway operator VR Group has announced possible changes to commuter and long-distance trains timetable on Monday due to weather conditions.
Commuter train passengers have been informed that the trains will run a reduced service on Monday.
Long distance trains will not be cancelled in advance,however, passengers should be braced for delays, said VR. There is also possibility for long-distance trains cancellations.
According to Helsinki Regional Tranport Authority (HSL), A and K trains will run at a reduced service on Monday.On Monday, A and K trains will run every 20 minutes. According to HSL, extreme weather conditions may cause delays and cancellations as well as diversion routes. Already the snow piled along streets and roads is causing problems to trams and buses.
All the D trains running between Helsinki-Riihimäki will also be cancelled on Monday.D train number 9693 departing from Helsinki at 3:51 will be cancelled as well.
