The water level in many rivers in the southern parts of the country has risen to the flood level, said the flood centre-Tulvakeskus.

Increased rainfall has also raised water level in lakes in the south. According to the flood-centre, the water level has also risen in some fields.

The flood centre said frigid weather conditions will reverse the situation no later than Sunday.

According to a Met Office forecast, the countrywide temperatures will fall below zero degrees Celsius on Sunday.
