7 killed in gas explosion in Bangladesh

Seven people were killed and at least 10 injured following a gas pipe line explosion in Bangladesh´s port city Chattogram on Sunday morning, local media said.

The incident took place at about 9:00 am when the fire broke out from the ground floor of a five-storied building and collapsed the side wall resulting in injuries a of dozen of people.

Karnafulli gas distribution authority claimed that their pipelines were okay while Chattopgram development authority( CDA) objected that there was a violation in the building code when it was constructed.

A five-member probe committee was formed to investigate into the accident.
