The government may recommend the name of Alexander Stubb, the former Prime Minister and former Finance minister of the country for the post of vice president of the European Investment Bank, reported national broadcaster Yle.
According to the Yle Uutiset source, Stubb will be the successor of Jan Vapaavuori, the VP of the non-profit lending organization of EU, who is going to resign from the post and taking over the charge as the Mayor of Helsinki City Corporation.
The post of the VP of the European Investment Bank is held by Finland, Sweden and Austria by rotation.
As the post is given to a member of the Kansallinen Kokoomus (National Coalition Party) in Finland, the Chairman of the party Petteri Orpo, also the Finance Minister of the country will take final decision in this regard, said the Yle report.
Finland will hold the post of the VP of EIB till August 2019.
