Fennovoima CEO Hemminki steps down

The chief executive officer of the nuclear power company Fennovoima, Toni Hemminki has resigned with effect from the end of October, said a press release issued by the company on Thursday.

He, however, will continue as a management advisor until the end of the year 2019. He will join Wega Group Oy as a shareholder early next year.

Meanwhile, the company has already started a search for a new company CEO and Fennovoima COO Timo Okkonen will be the acting CEO until joining of the new CEO.

Hemminki assumed the office od the Fennovoima CEO in 2014.

“I want to thank Toni Hemminki for his long, altogether twelve years, dedication and contribution to Fennovoima. During his CEO period, Fennovoima has grown and developed significantly, and is getting ready for the next steps in the Hanhikivi 1 project,” said Esa Härmälä, chairman of the Board of Fennovoima.
