A working group of the Ministry of Finance will review the group taxation system and the tax treatment of so-called final losses, said an official press release.
The tasks of the working group are to examine the reform of the group taxation system in order to eliminate the problems found in the system, and determine the conditions under which the final losses of foreign subsidiaries could be utilised in Finland.
The reform must be implemented so that account is taken not only of Finland’s competitiveness but also of the safeguarding of the tax base and the predictability of taxation.
The reform is based on the Government Programme. It also stems from a notification issued by the European Commission to Finland.
The Ministry of Finance appointed the working group on 31 October. Its term will end on 31 January 2021.
The working group consists of representatives from the Ministry of Finance, the Supreme Administrative Court, the Tax Administration, the university world and business organisations.
The group must consult key organisations during its work.
