Finnish companies willing to explore Bangladesh markets

Eight Finland-based companies on Sunday expressed their intent to engage in business in Bangladesh in different sectors at a seminar in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Finnpartnership, Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) and Embassy of Finland in India, with concurrent jurisdiction to Bangladesh, jointly organised the seminar with presence of representatives of over 100 Bangladesh business entities.
The eight companies – Alfa Laval Aalborg, Biovoima, Daffodil Nordic, iCycle, Mediconsult, Olwel, SEB Bank and Valmet – have offered products and service ranging from boilers, waste heat recovery system solutions to power plants, waste treatment plants, education and skills training, health and banking services etc.
Bangladesh agriculture minister Muhammad Abdur Razzaque, FBCCI president Sheikh Fazle Fahim, Finnish foreign ministry director for South Asia Titta Maja, Finnpartnership programme director Birgit Nevala and programme officer Patrik Bredbacka and representatives of the eight companies spoke at the seminar.
After the seminar, representatives of Finnish and Bangladesh business companies engaged in matchmaking discussion for over an hour on potentials of engaging in exchanges expected to be mutually beneficial to respective sides.
Four, out of eight, are joint venture companies established by Bangladesh and Finnish business persons.
