Finland's gross domestic product (GDP) is projected to increase by 1.6 percent in 2019, according to a survey published by the Finnish Ministry of Finance on Wednesday.

The survey also forecasted growth rates of 1.0 percent in 2020 and 1.1 percent in 2021.

The figures are close to the Bank of Finland's projections unveiled on Tuesday.

Both the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Finland underlined the importance of domestic demand as a positive factor for growth.

Olli Rehn, the Governor of the Bank of Finland, argued on Tuesday that Finland is not in a recession even though the development has calmed down.
