Volkswagen vehicle deliveries decline 25% worldwide in Feb

The Volkswagen Group delivered 546,300 vehicles to customers worldwide in February, almost a quarter less than a year ago, the German car manufacturer announced on Friday.

The slump in sales was somewhat slowed by sales in North and South America, where the Volkswagen Group delivered 8.4 percent and 13.9 percent more vehicles to customers in February.

Across its different brands, Volkswagen suffered the biggest drop in sales at its core brand VW at minus 32.1 percent. Sales of Volkswagen subsidiary and premium car manufacturer Audi fell by 22.5 percent.

In the first two months of the year, the Volkswagen Group delivered almost 1.4 million passenger cars, trucks and buses worldwide, almost 14 percent fewer than in the same period last year.
