The preparation of the national budget for 2018 will begin on August 8 with a two-day budget session at the Ministry of Finance.

The government proposal for the 2018 budget will be published on September 19, said a government press release.

The budget proposal of the ministry will be sent to the ministries and published online at budjetti.vm.fi on August 10 and budget discussions between the finance and other ministries will be held on August 16 and 17.

The government budget session will be held on August 30 and 31 and after the session a debate on the budget proposal will be held at an extraordinary Ministerial Finance Committee meeting and a government plenary session on September 19 after which the 2018 budget will be published online.
