Industrial output in Feb grows from Jan, falls from 2019

Seasonally adjusted industrial output (TOL BCD) grew by 0.8 per cent in February from the previous month despite the steep decline of the forest industry, according to Statistics Finland.
The industrial output adjusted for working days, however, was 0.1 per cent lower in February 2020 than in February 2019.
Examined by main industry, seasonally adjusted industrial output grew in February most in mining and quarrying, by 13.0 per cent and in the electronic and electrical industry, by 6.3 per cent.
Growth was also recorded in the metal industry, up by 3.5 per cent, and in the industry of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, by 2.5 per cent from the month before.
The industrial actions in the field in February dropped output strongly in the forest industry, which went down by 22.1 per cent compared with the previous month. In the chemical industry, output diminished by 0.2 per cent.
