The U.S. electric carmaker Tesla delivered nearly 140,000 vehicles in the third quarter of 2020, a 43 percent increase from the same period of last year, according to the company's report released on Friday, reported Xinhua.
In the third quarter, Tesla delivered 139,300 vehicles, also 53 percent higher than the last quarter, the company said.
The company produced 145,036 electric vehicles in the third quarter, about 75 percent improvement from the last quarter, as well as the same period last year.
The vast majority of its productions were Model 3 and Model Y vehicles, which counted 128,044 vehicles. The remaining 16,992 were its more expensive Model S and Model X vehicles.
In terms of days of sales, new vehicle inventory declined further in the third quarter as the company continued to improve delivery efficiency, according to the report.
Tesla has built a gigafactory in China's Shanghai, its first overseas plant outside the United States. It officially delivered the first batch of made-in-China Model 3 sedans to the public earlier this year.
