The government on Monday submitted its proposed budget for 2021 to parliament, said an official press release.

Earlier, on September 16, the five-party alliance government announced a budget proposal of 64.2 billion euros for the year 2021 with a deficit of 10.8 billion euros amid the difficult economic situation of the country in the wake of coronavirus pandemic.

According to the proposed budget, the deficit will be 10.8 billion euros, which is 3.8 billion euros higher than the amount originally proposed by the finance ministry.

In the proposed budget, spending includes money to reduce daycare fees, an aid package for municipalities, spending on improving employment services, and a huge amount of 1.4 billion euros for coronavirus testing.
