Old dwelling prices continue to rise in big cities

Prices of old dwellings in housing companies rose by 4.1 per cent in Greater Helsinki and by 1.4 per cent in the rest of Finland in October this year compared to that in October 2019, according to the Statistics Finland.

Compared to September, prices remained unchanged. The number of transactions of old dwellings in housing companies made through real estate agents remained unchanged compared to that one year ago.

Compared with the corresponding period of last year, prices rose in Southern, Eastern, and Western Finland and fell in Northern Finland.

According to preliminary data, the prices rose from the level of previous year in Tampere, Helsinki, and Espoo among large cities.

In October, the prices fell year on year in Oulu and Turku, and remained almost unchanged in Vantaa.

In transactions made through real estate agents, the average selling time (transaction time) of a dwelling in a block of flats sold in October was 51 days in Helsinki, 61 days in Tampere, and 67 days in Turku.
