Following a short recovery during the summer, worldwide vehicle deliveries by Volkswagen group in November kept falling and decreased by 9.0 percent year-on-year to 899,900 units, Germany's largest carmaker announced on Friday, reported Xinhua.

With 390,700 delivered vehicles in November, China continued to be Volkswagen's biggest single market, although group deliveries in China were 6.9 percent lower than last year.

Across all markets, deliveries to China and the Asia-Pacific region were least affected by the COVID-19 crisis and only fell between 8.6 and 9.0 percent in the period from January to November, according to Volkswagen.

On Tuesday, Volkswagen announced additional investments of around one billion euros in China in order to increase its shareholding in Volkswagen Anhui, formerly known as JAC Volkswagen, from 50 to 75 percent.

"Volkswagen Anhui will strengthen China's role in the electrification and digitalization of the Volkswagen Group," said Herbert Diess, CEO of Volkswagen, in a statement.

Meanwhile, vehicle deliveries in the United States and Europe fell by 20 percent and 16.2 percent respectively in the current year. According to Volkswagen, deliveries in Europe only decreased by 6.1 percent in November while in the U.S. market it was 13.7 percent below last year's level.

The German carmaker's premium brand Audi continued its recovery with deliveries increased by 1.8 percent to 166,300 vehicles in November. Throughout the crisis, Volkswagen's sports car brand Porsche recorded the lowest fall in car deliveries, with only 5.3 percent fewer vehicles delivered between January and November.
