Wages, salaries grow by 0.2% in Q3 last year

The wages and salaries sum of the whole economy was 0.2 per cent greater in the October to December period than in the corresponding period twelve months earlier, according to Statistics Finland.
In December, the wages and salaries sum of the whole economy grew by 0.8 per cent from the year before.
One year previously in October to December, the wages and salaries sum of the whole economy increased by 2.3 per cent.
In October to December, the wages and salaries sum increased in the industries of private health and social work (6.2%), private education (1.4%), construction (1.2%), manufacturing (0.7%), financial intermediation (0.7%) and trade (0.6%).
The wages and salaries sum of other services (-3.1%) decreased compared to the corresponding period of the year before.
Wages and salaries sum decreased by 0.2 per cent in the private sector in October to December year-on-year
The wages and salaries sum in the private sector was 0.2 per cent lower in October to December than twelve months earlier.
The wages and salaries sum of the public sector was 2.4 per cent higher than in the corresponding period one year previously.
In December, the wages and salaries sum in the private sector increased by 1.1 per cent and in the public sector by 2.1 per cent from one year earlier. In the October to December period the year before, the wages and salaries sum grew by 2.7 per cent in the private sector and by 2.0 per cent in the public sector from the year before.
