Security data must be submitted to Finnish Customs on postal consignments arriving from outside the EU before the goods are loaded on board an aircraft.
The new procedures in this regard will be implemented from Monday, said Finnish Customs in a recent press release.
More detailed information must also be submitted on express freight consignments before loading.
The change may affect the clients of express freight companies so that they will have to submit to the transport company more detailed information about the goods.
For example, the commodity code may be requested.
Transport companies submit the security data directly to the EU Commission’s system, the press release added.
