The national postal and logistic services operator Posti took three months to deliver a parcel posted in Jyväskylä to Helsinki, reported the national broadcaster Yle.
The parcel containing historic materials posted in January went missing for about three months and finally was delivered to the National Archives of Finland last week.
Posti Chief Executive Officer Turkka Kuusisto admitted the disruption in the delivery process of two parcels to the National Archives in Helsinki this year.
The CEO said the address labels on the parcels were lost during transport, resulting in them going missing for a temporary period.
Regretting the unwanted situation, Kuusisto said the delivery was significantly delayed, which was a clear mistake on their part.
In early April, Minister for European Affairs and Ownership Steering Tytti Tuppurainen sought explanation from Posti about the parcels going temporarily missing.
The minister also asked clarification about the quality and trustworthiness of Posti services.
