Goods transported across the tax border between the Åland Islands and mainland Finland must be presented and declared to Customs from 1 September, said the Customs in a recent press release on Monday.

Customs declarations for the goods must be lodged electronically in the Customs Clearance Service or via message exchange.

The declaration can be lodged either in advance or at the latest when the goods arrive across the tax border.

The procedure after the end of the transition period this month is described on the page about Åland tax border trade.
