Building costs hike in Sept

Building costs rose by 0.1 per cent in September 2017 compared with the corresponding month of the previous year, according to Statistics Finland.
The prices of materials went up by one per cent and those of services by 0.6 per cent from September 2016. At the same time, the prices of labour inputs fell by 1.1 per cent. The fall in the prices of labour inputs is explained by lower employer’s social security costs compared with 2016.
From August to September, the total index of building costs remained almost unchanged. The prices of materials and services fell by 0.1 per cent each. The prices of labour inputs remained unchanged from the previous month.
