Courts settle 2,450 bankruptcy proceedings in 2021

A total of 2,450 bankruptcy proceedings were concluded by courts in 2021, according to Statistics Finland.

Altogether 462 of the petitions for bankruptcy in 2021 ended with the certification of the disbursement list.

Of the 2,821 petitions for bankruptcy processed in the previous year, 586 ended with the certification of the disbursement list.

In other cases, bankruptcy proceedings were discontinued at different stages of the bankruptcy proceedings.

The commonest reason for discontinuing bankruptcy proceedings was the insufficient means of the bankruptcy estate, which was the reason in 1,257 cases.
