GDP grows by 0.9% in Q2

The volume of Finland’s gross domestic product grew by 0.9 per cent in April to June 2022 compared with the previous quarter, according to Statistics Finland.

Compared with the second quarter of 2021, GDP adjusted for working days grew by 3.0 per cent.

In April to June, the volume of exports grew by 0.2 per cent and the volume of imports by 2.3 per cent from the level in January to March.

The rise in prices increased the current priced value of international trade clearly compared with the previous year.

Private consumption grew in April to June by 2.3 per cent from the level in January to March. Government consumption expenditure increased by 1.7 per cent.

Gross fixed capital formation, or investments, decreased in the second quarter by 1.8 per cent from the previous quarter. Private investments increased but public investments contracted.

Building investments contracted in April to June. Investments in machinery and equipment remained on level with the previous quarter.
