Private sector hourly labour cost rises by 2.5% in Q2

Labour costs in the private sector rose by 2.5 per cent in April to June 2022 compared to the respective period of the year before, according to Statistics Finland.

In the central government sector, costs grew by 3.3 per cent and in the local government sector by 3.0 per cent.

The second quarter of 2022 had 61 working days, which is the same as in the corresponding period of 2021.

Of private sector industries, the biggest rise in costs, 9.4 per cent, was seen in financial and insurance activities.

The smallest rise in costs, 0.7 per cent, was recorded in information and communication.
