Posti to open 1000 parcel lockers next year

The national postal and logistic services operator Posti will open 1,000 new parcel lockers and develop digital tracking of letters from next year.

Posti has verified its new strategy for proceeding with powerful renewal measures and enhancing the customer experience, said a Posti press release recently.

“Next year, we will open 1,000 new parcel lockers in addition to the existing 500 parcel lockers throughout Finland in order to support the growth of e-commerce,” said Posti CEO Heikki Malinen.

Posti has excellent opportunities for growth in e-commerce of goods and foodstuffs. This year, it estimates to deliver more parcels and goods than ever.

E-commerce is expected to grow at an annual rate of approximately 10 per cent in Finland.

“We want Posti to be a customer-oriented and profitable logistics and postal service company that utilises digitalisation in all of its operations. Even though the business environment is changing, the mission of Posti stays the same: to make the everyday lives of Finns smoother,” said Malinen characterising the Posti of the future.
