Prices of old houses on wane

Prices of old dwellings in housing companies decreased throughout Finland in February, according to Statistics Finland.
In the whole country, prices fell by 5.2 per cent from the previous year but increased by 1.2 per cent from January. Of large towns, prices fell most in Helsinki, Vantaa and Espoo.
Prices of old dwellings in housing companies fell by 6.1 per cent in Greater Helsinki in February from the previous year. Prices went up by 1.2 per cent from the previous month.
Prices fell by 5.5 per cent year-on-year in the six largest towns. Prices went down by 4.4 per cent outside large towns.
Prices of dwellings in blocks of flats fell in the whole country by 5.8 per cent and prices of dwellings in terraced houses by 3.7 per cent compared to one year ago.
Among large towns, prices of dwellings fell least in Oulu and Turku.
In February, 32 per cent fewer sales of old dwellings in blocks of flats and terraced houses were made through real estate agents than one year earlier.
