Industrial output decreases in Feb

Seasonally adjusted industrial output (TOL BCD) fell in February by 2.3 per cent from the month before, according to Statistics Finland.
Industrial output adjusted for working days also went down by 2.3 per cent compared to February 2022.
Adjusted for working days, industrial output (C) declined by 4.1 per cent in February from one year earlier.
Seasonally adjusted output fell by 1.8 per cent from the month before.
Among the examined main industries, industrial output grew in February only in mining and quarrying, by 10.2 per cent compared to January.
Output decreased in other main industries from the month before. Output decreased most from the previous month in the forest industry, by 6.7 per cent, and in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, by 6.0 per cent.
Compared to the previous year, output also increased most in mining and quarrying, by 11.0 per cent.
Output in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply grew by 6.1 per cent and in the metal industry by 1.1 per cent from one year back.
The fall in output was strongest in the forest industry, 12.2 per cent, and in the chemical industry, 10.7 per cent. Output in the electrical and electronics industry decreased by 4.5 per cent and output in the food industry by 2.5 per cent compared to February 2022.
