Trade balance posts €65m surplus in March

The trade balance was in surplus of EUR 65 million in March, according to the preliminary statistics of international trade in goods released by Finnish Customs on Monday.
In January-March, the aggregated deficit, however, amounted to EUR 915 million.
In March 2022, the trade balance was EUR 1.5 billion in deficit and in January-March of the same year, the aggregated deficit was EUR 3.7 billion.
the value of Finnish exports increased by 9.5 per cent in March year-on-year. The value of Finnish exports in March was EUR 7.7 billion. Export volume increased by 8.3 per cent, and export prices increased by 2.4 per cent year-on-year.
The value of imports decreased by 10.7 per cent in March and the value of imports was EUR 7.6 billion. Import prices declined by 2.5 per cent and import volume decreased by 6.5 per cent compared to March 2022.
Value of exports to EU member states increased by 10.8 per cent and to non-EU countries by 7.5 per cent in March compared to the same month the previous year.
The volume of exports to EU countries increased by 10.6 per cent and to non-EU countries by 5.8 per cent during the same time.
Calculated from the beginning of the year, value of exports to EU countries increased by 3.1 per cent and to non-EU countries by 0.7 per cent. The volume of exports from EU member states decreased by 6.3 per cent and the volume of exports from non-EU countries by 1.6 per cent calculated according to 12-month moving average.
Value of imports from EU countries decreased by 2.3 per cent and from non-EU countries by 20.9 per cent in March. The volume of imports from EU member states increased by 1.0 per cent but decreased from non-EU countries by 15.9 per cent.
Calculated from the beginning of the year, imports from EU member states decreased by 2.3 per cent and from other countries by 20.5 per cent.
The volume of imports from EU member states decreased by 4.6 per cent, and the volume of imports from non-EU countries by 0.8 per cent calculated according to 12-month moving average.
