Building costs rose by 0.4 per cent in November 2017 from one year back, according to Statistics Finland.

The prices of materials rose by 1.7 per cent and those of services by 1.3 per cent compared with November of the previous year.

At the same time, the prices of labour inputs fell by 1.3 per cent. The fall in the prices of labour inputs is explained by lower employer’s social security costs compared with 2016.

From October to November, the total index of building costs increased by 0.3 per cent.

The prices of materials rose by 0.6 per cent in a month. The prices of labour inputs and services remained at the same level as in October.
