Shops expect busy Christmas sales

The coming weeks will be decisive when it comes to Christmas sales, reported the local media.

According to lkka Alarotu, the manager of S-Group retail business, so far Christmas sales have been better compared to that in the previous year.

Similarly, Christmas season sales at retail giant Stockmann have so far been lively, according to Stockmann Corporate Development Director Nora Malin. The outcome of the sales will be visible in a few days, Malin said.

According to Malin, the busiest selling days are three or four days before Christmas Eve as well as the Saturday preceding Christmas.

The Finnish Commerce Federation also believes that Christmas sales this year are expected to improve slightly compared to last year.
