Building costs drop slightly in January

Building costs decreased by 0.1 per cent in January 2024 from one year back, according to Statistics Finland.

Among materials, the costs of heat insulation rose most in the year (3.6 per cent). Costs decreased most in the year in timber structures (9.1%) and precast concrete units (12.6%).

The costs of services rose by 0.4 per cent in the year while the costs of materials decreased by 2.4 per cent from one year back.

The prices of labour increased by 3.3 per cent from one year ago.
