Prices of old houses drop by 4% in April

Prices of old dwellings in housing companies decreased by 4 percent in the whole country in April from the previous year and by 0.1 per cent from the previous month, according to Statistics Finland.
In all large towns except for Turku, prices went down from the year before.
The fall in prices was biggest in Vantaa (minus 9.1 %), Oulu (minus 7.7 %) and Helsinki ( minus 6.4 %).
Prices of old dwellings in housing companies decreased by 5.2 per cent in the six largest towns compared to the previous year. Prices went down by 1.9 per cent outside large towns.
From the previous month, prices decreased by 1.0 per cent in Greater Helsinki.
Prices of dwellings in blocks of flats declined by 5.0 per cent in the whole country and prices of dwellings in terraced houses by 1.6 per cent compared to one year ago.
In April, 17 per cent more sales of old dwellings in blocks of flats and terraced houses were made through real estate agents than one year earlier.
