The national postal corporation Posti through its subsidiary Posti Palvelut Oy will be making reductions in its early morning delivery personnel in Southeast Finland, reported the national broadcaster Yle.
Posti Palvelut Oy has initiated co-determination negotiations with early morning delivery personnel in Kouvola, Kotka, Lappeenranta, Mikkeli and Savonlinna.
The company intends to reduce costs by streamlining early delivery, but at the same time ensure timely delivery of newspapers.
The company said the redundancy may possibly be accomplished through natural attrition such as retirements.
According to Yle, the news was first reported by the Finnish language daily Länsi-Savo.
