Building costs rise by 0.5% in June

Building costs rose by 0.5 per cent in June 2024 from one year back, according to Statistics Finland.

Among materials, the biggest increases in the year were recorded in windows and doors (2.5%) and soil (2.3%).

Costs decreased most in the year in steel structures (10.1%) and precast concrete units (7.1%).

The prices of labour increased by 3.2 per cent in June 2024 from one year back.

The costs of materials decreased by 1.4 per cent while the costs of services rose by 0.8 per cent from one year back.

The total index rose by 0.1 per cent from the month before.
