Turnover in industry drops by 2.5% in June

Working day adjusted turnover in industry (TOL BCD) decreased by 2.5 per cent in June 2024 from June 2023, according to Statistics Finland.
In June, turnover declined most in the chemical industry, by 14.3 per cent from one year earlier.
Turnover also decreased in the electronic and electrical industry where turnover was 6.6 per cent lower than in the previous year.
Turnover in the metal industry went down by 3.7 per cent year-on-year.
Turnover grew most in the industry of mining and quarrying, by 18.1 per cent from one year ago.
Turnover in the forest industry was 9.2 per cent higher than one year previously.
Export turnover in the chemical industry decreased most in June, by 20.9 per cent from one year ago.
Export turnover decreased by 7.0 per cent in the electronic and electrical industry.
In the metal industry, export turnover was 4.5 per cent lower than one year previously.
Export turnover grew strongest in the industry of mining and quarrying, where export turnover was 56.2 per cent bigger than one year earlier.
Export turnover in the forest industry grew by 16.1 per cent from the previous year.
Domestic turnover grew in June only in the chemical industry, up by 2.2 per cent from the previous year.
Domestic turnover in the electronic and electrical industry decreased most, by 17.8 per cent.
Domestic turnover in the metal industry went down by 3.0 per cent and in the forest industry by 1.6 per cent.
Seasonally adjusted turnover in industry grew slightly in June 2024, by 0.2 per cent compared to May.
Turnover went down by 0.2 per cent in May and it grew by 4.0 per cent in April from the previous month.
