While as many as 90% of large Finnish companies understand what the green transition is, only three in four are able to see how they will benefit from it, according to a Corporate Pulse survey commissioned by OP Financial Group.

Large companies also feel that they are responsible for the choices made within their supply chains, said OP in a press release on Friday referring to the survey.

While companies appear to be familiar with the green transition, its impacts, requirements and the benefits to companies in particular are less clear.

Of the respondents, 76% said that they have a clear understanding of what the green transition requires from the company.

One in five respondents did not comment on the question. Despite this, one in four businesses that responded to the survey said that they don't know how their company can benefit from the green transition.

As many as 98% of Finnish companies feel that they are responsible for their own operations as well as for the sustainability of their suppliers and subcontractors.

A total of 100 Finnish companies with a turnover of at least 100 million euros responded to OP’s Corporate Pulse survey, which was commissioned by OP Financial Group and was implemented by Taloustutkimus Oy.

The survey was conducted by phone in April–May 2024.
