306 bankruptcies filed in August

A total of 306 bankruptcy proceedings were instigated in August 2024, which is 23 more than in the corresponding period one year earlier, according to Statistics Finland.
The number of staff-years in enterprises that filed for bankruptcy totalled 1,146, which is 133 staff-years fewer than in August 2023.
In August 2024, the 12-month moving annual change in enterprises that filed for bankruptcy was 12 per cent.
During the past 12 months, 15,240 staff-years have been under threat due to bankruptcy petitions.
A total of 225 bankruptcy proceedings were instigated in July.
