Prices of old dwelling houses drop Y-on-Y in August

The prices of old dwellings in housing companies decreased by 1.5 per cent year-on-year in the whole country in August 2024, according to Statistics Finland.
Compared with the previous month, prices increased by 1.3 per cent.
Among large towns, prices rose year-on-year in Tampere (3.1%) and in Espoo (1.4%). Prices declined most in Helsinki (5.6%) and in Vantaa (5.0%).
Prices of old dwellings in housing companies decreased by 2.9 per cent in the six largest towns in August 2024 compared with the previous year.
Outside large towns, prices rose by 0.9 per cent.
In Greater Helsinki, prices of old dwellings in housing companies declined by 4.0 per cent from the previous year but went up by 0.6 per cent from the previous month.
In the whole country, prices of dwellings in blocks of flats went down by 2.9 per cent compared with one year ago. Prices of dwellings in terraced houses rose by 2.0 per cent.
In August, 15 per cent more sales of old dwellings in blocks of flats and terraced houses were made through real estate agents than one year earlier.
