New car registration drops by 39% in Sep

A total of 4,601 new passenger cars were registered in Finland in September 2024, which was 39 per cent fewer than one year earlier, according to Statistics Finland.
In all, 8,423 new vehicles were registered in September. First registrations decreased by 32 per cent from the corresponding month of the previous year.
In January to September period of 2024, a total of 55,507 new passenger cars were registered, which was 19 per cent fewer than one year earlier.
Out of the first-time registered passenger cars in September, 40 per cent were fully electric.
The number of registrations of the electric cars was 1,841, or 39 per cent fewer than one year earlier.
Used imported passenger cars numbered 3,829, which was 7 per cent more than one year earlier.
