274 bankruptcies filed in September

A total of 274 bankruptcy proceedings were instigated in September 2024, which is 36 fewer than in the corresponding period one year earlier, according to Statistics Finland.
The number of staff-years in enterprises that filed for bankruptcy totalled 1,218, which is 30 staff-years fewer than in September 2023.
In September 2024, the 12-month moving annual change in enterprises that filed for bankruptcy was 10 per cent.
The number of bankruptcy petitions was highest in service industries and construction.
A total of 306 bankruptcy proceedings were instigated in August 2024, which is 23 more than in the corresponding period one year earlier.
