Prices of old dwelling houses continue to drop

The prices of old dwellings in housing companies decreased by 1.2 per cent year-on-year in the whole country in September 2024, according to Statistics Finland.
Compared with the previous month, prices decreased by 0.6 per cent. Prices declined in all large towns relative to a year ago.
Prices declined most in Turku (5.0 %) and in Tampere (4.4 %).
Prices of old dwellings in housing companies decreased by 2.6 per cent in the six largest towns in September 2024 compared with one year ago.
Outside large towns, prices increased by 1.2 per cent.
In Greater Helsinki, prices of old dwellings in housing companies decreased by 2.2 per cent from one year ago but went up by 1.0 per cent from the previous month.
In the whole country, prices of dwellings in blocks of flats decreased by 1.4 per cent and prices of dwellings in terraced houses by 0.7 per cent compared with one year ago.
In September, 19 per cent more sales of old dwellings in blocks of flats and terraced houses were made through real estate agents than one year earlier.
